Ron Johnson is an embarrassment to Wisconsin.
He made that clear after Nov. 3 when he kept parroting Trump’s propaganda about the election.
He made that clear after Jan. 6, when he blamed Nancy Pelosi for the violent mob and tried to claim that the ultra-rightwingers who trashed the Capitol were actually from the left.
He made that clear when he insisted that the Biden recovery bill be read out loud, word for word, before the Senators voted on it.
And he made that clear when, more than two months after the Jan. 6 riot, he was still fronting for the rioters. Amazingly, he said, on conservative talk radio on March 11, that “I knew those were people who love this country, that truly respect law enforcement, would never do anything to break the law, so I wasn’t concerned.”
Where you been, Ron?
Your far-right Trump supporters were flagrantly breaking the law, they injured 138 law enforcement officers, and three officers died.
Maybe you should have been concerned.
Worse, much worse, Johnson went on to say that “ had the tables been turned … and those were tens of thousands of Black Lives Matter and antifa protesters, I might have been a little concerned.”
Now this is the very definition of racist: When the protesters are white and rightwing, Johnson assumes they’re benign. When they’re black or protesting against racism or fascism, Johnson assumes they’re dangerous.
So Ron Johnson’s not just an embarrassment to Wisconsin.
He’s a racist.
And he should resign.
