Julie Kerksick

Julie Kerksick is the Senior Policy Advocate for Community Advocates Public Policy Institute. As former Executive Director of the New Hope Project in Milwaukee, Julie has direct experience with both transitional jobs and Earned Income Tax Credit reform. She played a key role in persuading state and federal policymakers of both parties to support New Hope and incorporate some parts of it into state law. Julie has worked to influence programs and policies at the state and national levels for more than four decades, endeavoring to bring solid information and evidence to policymakers while also reflecting the experiences of those directly affected by poverty, and sharing the lessons learned in implementing public policy.
