State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski became the second statewide constitutional officer to give birth while holding public office this week. In 1991, former Treasurer Cate Zeuske gave birth while serving in the same office.

Godlewski, and her husband Max Duckworth and their dog Tanner, welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday.

“He didn’t disappoint at 22 inches long and just short of 9 pounds,” Godlewski said on Facebook. “We are all doing well and in absolute love with our little cheese curd!”

Godlewski has never shied from pointing out that she’s a fifth-generation Wisconsinite and an avid Green Bay Packer fan. There’s now a sixth generation — and she has already declared him to be a Packer fan as well.

CORRECTION: In a press release announcing the birth of her son, Godlewski stated she was the first constitutional officer in Wisconsin history to give birth while in office. However, former Treasurer Cate Zeuske gave birth while she was state treasurer in 1991. According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Zeuske, upon hearing the news, sent her warm wishes: “Happy to hear Sarah has a new little one in her family and may God bless them with good health and Christmas joy.”
